• About Sue Starr

    Decades before becoming a principal, Sue Starr secured her bachelor of arts in English from Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas. While teaching English at Lyles Middle School in Garland, Texas, she returned to the academic arena to secure a master of education in reading at the University of Texas at Tyler. She subsequently expanded into school counseling and administration, obtaining master of science degrees in both school counseling and educational administration in 2003. Sue Starr most recently served 3 years as principal of Northeast Middle and High School with Oklahoma City Public Schools.

    Ms. Starr currently lives in the Dallas/Fort Worth suburb of Rockwall, Texas. Continuing to hone her professional skills, she has completed her doctor of education in organizational leadership through Northcentral University in San Diego, California. Her leadership approach stresses the value of positive learning environment-building, effective communication, cultural competence, and both parent and community involvement. She absolutely loves the path that she is on.
