With a doctorate in organizational leadership from Northcentral University, Sue Starr is the former assistant principal and principal of Oklahoma City’s Northeast Middle and High School. While serving in the latter role, Sue Starr was appointed to serve on the Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) Northeast Task Force.

The Northeast Task Force was established by OKCPS to address issues at underperforming district schools in northeast Oklahoma City and the eastern Oklahoma City suburb of Spencer. Appointed members include principals, teachers, school board members, students, and parents, as well as elected officials, clergy, and business leaders from the community at large.
Specifically, the task force ensures that the diverse core initiatives of the OKCPS Great Commitment strategic plan apply equally to all institutions across the district. In an effort to build successful partnerships within schools and the families they serve, the task force collaborates in a broad spectrum of school/district decision-making processes and strives to keep communication channels within the school community fully open and transparent.
